Naukri.com’s TV commercial Hari Sadu wins Effie Award

Job portal Naukri.com’s TV commercial Hari Sadu has won a Bronze in the Consumer Services Category at the 2008 Asia Pacific Effie Awards. According to Info Edge India, owner of Naukri.com, the TVC was one among the three winner campaigns from India. The awards were conferred at a ceremony held in Singapore on 29th Feb 2008.

The Hari Sadu commercial, created by FCB Ulka, revolves around a fictional character Hari Sadu created to be a caricature representative of a pesky and arrogant boss. The ad has an employee telling on phone the full form of his boss’s name Hari as “H for Hitler, A for Arrogant, R for Rascal and I for Idiot.”

“The success is definitely indicated by the huge recall for ‘Hari Sadu’ and its association with Naukri.com. The brazenness of the idea and the starkness of the execution helped in making the idea standout,” Sumeet Singh, national head, marketing and corporate communications, Info Edge India, has said.

Sanjay Sharma, creative director, Draft FCB Ulka, has added, “The credit for the success of the campaign goes to the client for having put immense trust and faith on the team.”
