Monopoly.com invites people to vote for their favourite cities

Toy manufacturer Funskool India, which sells popular board-game Monopoly, is urging people all over India to cast their vote for Mumbai, the only Indian city among the 68 cities nominated for the world’s first global Monopoly.

According to the company, the 20 cities with the highest worldwide votes will make it onto the World Edition Board Game. Votes can be cast online till February 28 by logging on to the website, Monopoly.com.

According to the company, the 20 cities with the highest worldwide votes will make it onto the World Edition Board Game. Votes can be cast online till February 28 by logging on to the website, Monopoly.com.

One can also nominate any other city not included in the list of the nominated cities. These new cities are known as Wildcard cities. The 20 most nominated Wildcard cities would be put on voting from March 1 to March 9. And the two most voted Wildcard cities will make it onto the board.

The 22 cities selected for the board will be announced in August. The world’s first global Monopoly board is expected to be released in September 2008. Funskool India is a joint venture between tyre brand MRF and American toy company Hasbro, which is also the publisher of Monopoly worldwide. (Source: Agencyfaqs)
