Mobile VAS company MobMe plans Initial Public Offering

Mobile VAS company MobMe Wireless has announced its
plans to come up with an Initial Public Offering (IPO) at the SME Exchange on
the NSE. Details of the IPO are being worked out and will be revealed later.
With the IPO, MobMe will become the first student-incubated company to go for a
listing.

“Standing at our Alma matter, on this auspicious
moment, which comes only once in a century, we would like to declare that a new
breed of entrepreneurs is setting sail from the shores of Kerala. IT revolution
globally has been driven by youth and we feel India will be no different,”
said Sanjay Vijayakumar, CEO of MobMe.

MobMe was founded in December 2006 and the
company offers services to operators, brands and the government. Recently,
MobMe partnered with Dutch security leader Gemalto and Valimo Wireless Oy of
Finland to roll out mobile digital signatures for secure logins and
transactions in India. MobME is also the first telecom mobile VAS company to
have a full-fledged R&D facility certified by the Central Department of
Government of India.
