Microsoft launches online file storage and sharing service SkyDrive

Microsoft has launched Windows Live SkyDrive, a password-protected online storage and sharing service that enables users to access their files from anywhere and also share the files with the people they choose. According to the company, Windows Live SkyDrive offers consumer 5 GB of free online storage with a 50 MB limit on each file uploaded.

“Windows Live SkyDrive is a great way for people to keep the information they need at their fingertips in order to access directly or to share with the people they choose,” Jaspreet Bindra, country manager, Microsoft Online Services Business, has said.

Samir Saraiya, product head, Windows Live India, Microsoft India, has added, “SkyDrive service allows users to limit access to the files uploaded, allowing them to keep the files private, share with contacts, or make the files public, thereby, releasing them from the tension of losing their confidential data.”
