MeraMobi allows users to book air, rail tickets on GPRS-activated mobile phones

India Interactive Technologies, a joint venture between Sam Pitroda Group and Dainik Bhaskar newspaper, has launched MeraMobi, a GPRS-based service that allows users to book rail and air tickets, make utility bill payments, and get information on current affairs, stock markets and yellow pages.

“The share of GPRS active users is steadily growing among all mobile phones users. Of the 278 million mobile phone users in India, around 20 million are GPRS-active consumers as compared to 30 million internet users and MeraMobi aims to reach out to these active users,” Rajeev Mishra, business head, India Interactive Technologies, has said.
