MakeMyTrip ties-up with mChek to offer m-commerce platform for travellers

Online travel company MakeMyTrip.com has partnered with mobile payment system provider mChek to launch MakeMyTrip AnyMobile service that enables mobile phone users to search, book and get air tickets through mobile. According to MakeMyTrip, the SMS-based service works on all handsets and does not require a GPRS subscription.

To avail this service, customers need to send ‘MakeMyTrip’ as SMS to 543219. The instructional menu appears on the screen allowing customers to search, book and pay for their flight tickets through their handsets, MakeMyTrip has said.

Sachin Bhatia, chief marketing officer and co-founder, MakeMyTrip.com, has said, “It is our biggest mobile initiative so far and strengthens the existing channels of access that we offer. Our mobile booking facility is now accessible to the user-base of 60 million Airtel subscribers.”
