MakeMyTrip records Rs 1,000 crore in sales in 2007-08, claims 40% market share

Online travel company MakeMyTrip.com has said it recorded sales of Rs 1,000 crore in the financial year ended March 2008, making it India’s largest travel site, with a 40 per cent market share. MakeMyTrip also claims to sell over 8,000 flight tickets, 1,000 hotel room nights and over 100 holiday packages every day.

MakeMyTrip.com has also announced a strategic tie-up with a leading business process outsourcing company IBM Daksh to further enhance its customer service experience through process and technology innovation. As part of the five-year contract MakeMyTrip will outsource customer-support functions and after-sales support for the ticketing and hotels portfolio. The Holidays segment will continue to be serviced by MakeMyTrip.
