Nearing its 50 millionth member, LinkedIn claims to add a new member each second. The website is believed to get 28.5 million users per month. According to Jeff Weiner, the fastest growing area for LinkedIn is now India.

LinkedIn, with annual revenue of more than $100 million, has been profitable for two years. The company has three revenue streams — advertising, premium membership subscriptions and software as a service that helps recruiters look for people to fill jobs.
