Linc Pen has launched Linc–MyDiary, a Facebook application that allows users of the social networking site to add a virtual diary in their profile and post scraps on a daily basis. “Social networking sites like Facebook and Orkut have a huge user base primarily in the age group of 15 to 23 years, who spend a substantial amount of their time interacting with friends and trying out new applications. Facebook is an ideal platform for us to informally interact with our target group and therefore we thought of developing an application on Facebook which would be fun and interesting and at the same time promote our product and enhance awareness among the users,” Deepak Jalan, managing director, Linc Pens, has told AlooTechie.

Deepak Jalan further said that the scope of innovation and execution of ideas seem to be much more on Facebook, and hence the company has chosen to launch the application on Facebook. According to Jalan, Linc Pen has identified internet as one of the key mediums for promoting the Linc brand. “We are studying the internet usage behaviour pattern among the users in the age group of 15-25 years and would strive to be present on the platforms which are compatible with our target group,” Jalan added.
