LetsIntern.com is an online platform that provides solutions to students looking for internships and companies looking for interns. LetsIntern claims to have served 10 companies and more than 20 students with internships since its launch in March 2010.

According to Rishabh Gupta, founder, LetsIntern.com, over 300 candidates have already registered on the site. The portal also has access to nearly thousand more candidates though its network of about 50 colleges across Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. LetsIntern plans to expand its college network to 300 colleges across 6 cities by the end of 2010.

LetsIntern.com earns its revenues by charging students Rs 999 for every paid internship and Rs 1,999 from the companies for every intern. The portal is currently providing internships across industries including consulting firms, media, consumer goods, legal and technology out of which finance and marketing are the most popular. “Since finance internship beyond financial product sales are difficult to find, finance is the most wanted industry on our portal. We are working on a strategy to penetrate this sector and raise several internships,” Rishabh Gupta told AlooTechie.

Speaking about the idea behind launching LetsIntern.com, Rishabh Gupta said, “Indian students pursuing graduation have a great desire and need to interact with the corporate world, and there was a severe demand-supply mismatch. Also, out of the 10 million graduates that pass out of colleges across India, only 25 per cent are employable. The rest require practical knowledge and skills, and what better than internships. Besides, with the booming education market and favourable demographics, career services of any kind stands to gain. Seeing a void in the internship market we decided this would be a great business opportunity to explore.”
