Yahoo's Bangalore research centre currently accounts for close to 30 per cent of the companyâ€™s intellectual property development, as against the modest 12 per cent a couple of years back. The share of IP from Yahooâ€™s research centres within the US is presently close to 60 per cent while those smattered across the world cobble up the rest 10 per cent, reports Economic Times.
According to a survey conducted by netCore Solutions, emails directly or indirectly influence 48 per cent of marketing budget of an average size enterprise. The survey found that email campaigns are predominantly used for promotional and informational purposes, with 36 per cent mailers sent for announcing deals and offers, 31 per cent for affiliate marketing, 18 per cent to communicate transactional information and 15 per cent as newsletters.
The Indian online advertising market comprising of both text and display ads is expected to grow by 26 per cent to Rs 993 crore in the financial year 2010-2011 from Rs 785 crore in the financial year 2009-2010, according to a survey by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI). The total online display advertising market in the country is expected to grow by 28 per cent from Rs 417 crore in 2009-2010 to Rs 534 crore in 2010-2011.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has recommended setting up a national broadband network at a cost of about Rs 60,000 crore. The move is aimed at achieving 160 million broadband connections in the country by 2014. According to TRAI, the project would be financed by universal service obligation (USO) fund and the loan would be given or guaranteed by the central government.
The global base of internet domain names increased by 7 per cent or 13.3 million year-over-year to 201.8 million domain name registrations across all Top Level Domains (TLDs) in the third quarter of 2010, according to the latest Domain Name Industry Brief, published by VeriSign, a leading provider of internet infrastructure services for the networked world.
