      mobile applications, the

    •
    • “The acquisition will be helpful in improving mobile
experience for customers,” said Azhar Iqubal, a cofounder of Inshorts, who
started up along with IITDelhi alumnus Anunay Arunav and IITKharagpur alumnus
      Deepit Purkayastha.
    •
    • The company, which incorporates videos, infographics,
podcasts and blogs among other things, raised its seed round in June last year,
followed by the most recent funding of Rs 127 crore from Tiger Global
      Management.

    • “We are looking to build an inhouse analytics engine
to personalise content delivery and increase the app’s retention,” said
Amritanshu Anand, an IITKharagpur alumnus, who founded BetaGlide along with
three others — Anshul Singhle, Manan Shah and Abhimanyu Dikshit — in 2013.
    •
    • BetaGlide’s product, Retention.ai, helps app developers in
analyzing user behaviour. It primarily works on tracking uninstalled users,
which includes finding possible reasons for uninstallation and ultimately
      decreasing user acquisition cost.
    •
    • Inshorts said it has no plans for monetization in the near
future, thus indicating how investors might be willing to further support
growth and not look for revenue as of now. It will make money through sponsored
      content and native advertising.
