Mobile advertising platform InMobi recently launched Miip, a revolutionary
discovery platform that promises to transform advertising, and empower brands,
merchants, and developers to effectively reach and engage mobile users
globally.

Speaking on the development, Founder and CEO of InMobi, Naveen
Tewari, said, “Ads today have forgotten the protagonist of the
story – the user. With Miip, we will put the user ahead of everyone else, and
deliver a consistent, personalized and content-rich experience that users will
fall in love with.”

Miip helps create special discovery zones for users within their
preferred apps, offering a consolidated collection of apps, product feeds, and
all related content accompanied by impressive visuals. It also extracts content
from other apps and places them in this zone.

Miip further ‘humanizes’ the discovery experiences through its namesake
mascot, via dynamic and intriguing conversations. Miip continually fine-tunes
its recommendations taking cues from the customers’ reactions within the
discovery zone.

Customers can purchase products within the discovery zone through secure
payments, enabled by Stripe, Miip’s partner for powering payment. Head of
Business Development, Stripe, Cristina Cordova, commented, “For consumers, the
point of discovery is shifting more than ever towards the apps and social media
feeds on their phones. Elegant, easy checkout experiences are essential to
converting on mobile, so we’re excited to partner with InMobi to bring these
experiences to thousands of apps on more than a billion devices.”

Currently, Miip is in private beta with popular partners – Rhymeo,
Spotify, JustFab and TheRealReal to name a few. It will be available for all
customers over the next few months.

InMobi has been recognized by MIT Technology Review as one of the
world’s 50 Most Disruptive Companies. Being the world’s largest discovery
platform, InMobi powers more than 100 billion discovery sessions on mobile
devices each month, spread across a billion users.

Google
board member Ram Shriram, an early investor in InMobi and who was present at
the event, said Miip would provide a good differentiation value to customers.
“I wanted to invest in an Indian company that was not into outsourcing but
still would do at least a billion dollars in revenue. InMobi could be that
company,” he added.
