India saw 5.8 billion ads being served on mobile internet in Q1 2011: BuzzCity

According to The BuzzCity Report, a quarterly summary on the trends and forces shaping mobile advertising by BuzzCity, a mobile media company, a total of 5.8 billion ads were served in India in Q1 2011 which is also the most number of mobile advertisements served on the BuzzCity Ad Network. India reached its highest levels of traffic to date in March, with 2.4 billion ads served to 49.79 million unique users.

According to The BuzzCity Report, a quarterly summary on the trends and forces shaping mobile advertising by BuzzCity, a mobile media company, a total of 5.8 billion ads were served in India in Q1 2011 which is also the most number of mobile advertisements served on the BuzzCity Ad Network. India reached its highest levels of traffic to date in March, with 2.4 billion ads served to 49.79 million unique users.

The report also showed that there was an increase of 44 per cent in banners served. Large concentrations of users have come from Uttar Pradesh with 7 per cent, Kerala with 6 per cent and Punjab with 5 per cent with growth also remaining strong in rural areas.

Globally, Q1 2011 saw 23.2 billion ad impressions being served on the BuzzCity network. Nokia still remains the dominant device globally among mobile internet surfers with 46 per cent using it, followed by Samsung with 12.5 per cent users and Sony Ericsson with 8.4 per cent users.

“This is just the tip of the iceberg. Consumer demand for mobile content such as games continues to grow and advertisers are taking advantage of this by, for example using pay-per download games as a key part of ad campaigns. This is particularly true of certain mobile VAS players in Indonesia, South Africa, India, and Mexico,” KF Lai, CEO, BuzzCity has said.
