Indg.in launched to provide information on agriculture, health, primary education

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), a part of ministry of communications and information technology, government of India, has developed India Development Gateway portal, Indg.in, that aims to provide information to villagers and weaker sections of the society about their strategic needs related to agriculture, health, primary education, energy and e-governance.

According to the union communications and information technology minister A Raja, the website is part of the national e-governance vision to make all government services accessible to the common man in his locality.

Currently, Indg.in is available in five Indian languages — Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi and Bengali, besides English. The government plans to add more Indian languages for wider relevance and acceptance. [Source: Hindu]
