Enthused by the success of
the MOWA mobile app aimed at simplifying the mobile payment process for

MOWA Tap and Pay terminal coined as “MOWA Wave” for merchants.

Mobile payments company iKaaz presents
this stand-alone terminal to enable merchants to accept payments without the
need to install any additional hardware or software.  The biggest
advantage of MOWA Wave is that consumers who have the MOWA app can start paying
using their phone by simply tapping at these terminals.

iKaaz is  introducting an innovative protocol that can
transform any smart phone into a proximity device, eliminating the need for the
customers to buy any hardware like NFC card or NFC phone. The customers need to
simply download the MOWA mobile app.

MOWA is a free mobile app that
can be downloaded from the Android Playstore. At present MOWA platform is
clocking half a million transactions a month and is expecting to grow up to
five million monthly transactions over the next twelve months.

Soma Sundaram, Founder &
CEO, iKaaz commented, “The introduction of MOWA Wave is another leap towards
realizing cashless transactions and enables the merchants to accept mobile
payments. This doesn’t require merchants to have a phone to operate with the
terminal or any complex activities to be set up. They just need to get this innovative
device to get started which we plan to deploy in the month of August.”

These terminals are also pocket
friendly for the merchants, and will be available across all fast food
restaurants and grocery stores in Bengaluru empowering 3000 merchants. iKaaz
charges a minimal merchants transaction fee.

Transforming Bengaluru in to a ‘Tap
& Pay City’, key merchants in the city have been signed up in the
restaurant and grocery categories. The food joints and restaurants include
Empire Group of Hotels, Nandhini Group of Hotels, United Restaurants Ltd (US
Pizza), Donut Baker, Rolls on Wheels, Imperial Restaurants, Just Bake, Juice
Junction, Chung Wah and Vasudev Adigas. The super market tie-ups include
Village Hyper Market, Top in Town, Big Market, Family Mart, City Shoppe, Fresh
