iDubba raises angel funding from Rajan Anandan, Srikant Sastri and others

iNiD Digimedia, which runs online social TV program guide
service iDubba, has raised an undisclosed amount in angel funding from a bunch
of investors including Rajan Anandan (MD, Google India), Srikant Sastri (chairperson,
Vivaki India), Abhishek Rungta and Pallav Nadhani (Founders of Seeders) among
others. Started in 2010 by Rabi Gupta and Ashish Kumar, iDubba is a part of
Morpheus’ 6th batch.

iDubba lets users discover shows based on their profile and
taste, and enabling them to make their TV viewing life more social. It has seen
total of 70,000+ activities. It now caters to all of English and Hindi TV
channels in India with 150+ channels and 18000+ shows and movies in its
database. It has built a recommendation engine, pictorial guide page,
intelligent alerts based on keywords and rewards for watching TV.

For every activity on iDubba users gain some
points and based on that they get on various Leaderboards (Sports,
Infotainment, Soaps etc). At the end of month iDubba distributes TV credits
based on a user’s position in leaderboard. TV credits can be redeemed (every
month) to win free DTH recharges, DTH connections or even LCD TVs.
