International hotel booking website Hotels.com has said that the company will be spending Rs 25 crore for marketing and promoting its services in India by 2011. According to the company, Hotels.com is tripling its marketing spends in India for launching multi-media advertising and promotional campaigns with a focus on both conventional and digital media platforms, including social networking sites like Facebook.
Hotels.com is a part of Expedia group, which had earlier announced its marketing plans and budget for India. “We have increased the marketing spends by almost three times this year compared to earlier. We are about to launch mobile applications for iPhones and android phones to enable users to make bookings directly from handheld devices We are going to be very competitive in marketing spends like Expedia,” Abhiram Chowdhry , marketing director, Hotels.com, Asia-Pacific has said.
Out of the total 1,30,000 hotels in Hotel.com’s global portfolio, the company has tie-ups with 2,400 hotels across categories in India and around 13,000 hotels in the Asia-Pacific region.
