CarDekho
is set to launch CarBuddy, an app which ensures users get a mechanic in a few minutes,
in the next three months, reports the Economic Times. The app has been
developed by parent Girnar Soft’s Jaipur delivery centre.

“We
have tied up with five major car helpline players in major metros and are in the
process of tying up with local mechanics to provide the on-demand
service,” Jain was quoted in the report as saying. The app will operate on
a commission basis with varying rates for services such as car wash, battery
change, full service and so on, he added.

The
company raised $50 million in January from investors including Hillhouse
Capital, Tybourne Capital and Sequoia Capital in Series B funding.

The
company may launch a similar service in Southeast Asian markets. “India
will prove to be a test ground for us. Once successful we will expand it
overseas,” Jain told the Economic Times.

CarBuddy
will be launched for Android phones to start with and will also offer an online
manual for basic repairs by users.
