Google wins claim over ‘googlenetbiz.com’ domain registered by a cybersquatter

Google has won a domain name dispute against an Indian cybersquatter, named Racha Ravinder who had registered ‘googlenetbiz.com’ in July 2008 and offered to sell it for $50,000, at World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).

In its petition filed before WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre in October 2009, Google had submitted that the disputed domain name was confusingly similar to a trademark or service mark” in which it has rights. [via PTI]
