Google launches mobile version of Orkut at m.orkut.com

Google has launched a mobile version of its social networking site Orkut at m.orkut.com. The new mobile site enables users to read and reply to scraps, receive updates from existing friends and know about the upcoming birthdays. Users of Orkut mobile can also approve or decline new friend requests.

Orkut mobile also allows users to navigate the site using keypad shortcuts on their mobile phone like 3 for Friends and 7 for Scrapbook, reports Digital Inspiration. Interestingly, the Orkut’s mobile version can also be accesses on a desktop!

Currently, Orkut has around 120 million users worldwide, up from 50 million users in April 2007. India alone has about 20.3 million (16.91%) users on Orkut, according to Google Operating System.
