Google launches deal platform ‘Google Offers’

Google has launched Google Offers enabling local businesses to advertise their products with discount and offers on the platform. The platform works as a daily deal website where users receive an e-mail with a local deal of the day. They then have the opportunity to buy that deal within a specific time limit. It will also provide users the ability to subscribe to location based deals and as the beta launch reads. Google Offers is launched in beta version in Portland, New York and San Francisco.

Google Offers is powered by Google Checkout and it also includes Facebook, Twitter, Google Reader, Google Buzz and e-mail sharing options. The products come in following Groupon’s declination of a $6 billion buyout from Google.
