Google India has launched a new version of Google Mobile App for Nokia S60 that includes the search by voice feature for queries spoken in English. According to Google, the mobile app is location aware which can help users get the most relevant results nearby without having to mention the name of their city or locality.

Karthik B, a software engineer at Google, explains, “Search by voice is not limited to simple queries. Try complex queries like – ‘pictures of gateway of India’, ‘what is the length of a cricket pitch’, or even something very Indian like ‘makki ki roti and sarson ka saag recipe’.”

In addition to Nokia S60 phones, Google Mobile App with Voice Search is also available for BlackBerry, iPhone and Android based mobile devices. Earlier, Google India had introduced a voice-based local search service that allows users to call a toll free number (1 800 41 99 99 99) and get information about restaurants, movies and other local businesses.
