The season of thunder, storm and wind is fianlly here. During this season of cooling breeze, one has to be prepared for clouds, downpours and, worst case scenario, possible serious disruptions in your travel plans. However, hyperlocal startup Taskbob.com wants users to leave the hassles of driving in the maddening traffic to them.
Aseem Khare, Founder and CEO of Taskbob.com, said, “During strike and heavy rains, Driver service is absolutely high on demand. The highest number of calls come from travelers around the city, trying to commute while working. The trend of renting drivers post late night parties and get-togethers has shifted to calling them for an office ride during strikes and rains. The on-demand driver service is not only becoming popular with the working professionals and families, but also turning out to be a much cheaper option as compared to full time drivers, as one can avail on-demand driver service anytime and anywhere using their smart phone. Customer safety is our utmost priority. We make sure that all our drivers are screened, trained and certified before taking them on board. We aim to be the reliable one-stop shop for on-demand home services ranging from handymen, cleaning services to driver services.”
Taskbob.com’s ‘On-Demand Driver Service’ offers a pre-screened and certified driver on call with pick-up and drop facility, 8-hour package service and out of station travel services. The cost for on-demand driver is as low as Rs. 80/- an hour plus Rs. 70/- as base rate as compared to costly Rs. 650/- for 8-hour package, for outstation travel the rates start from Rs. 1000/- a day. One can use this service for office pick and drop, outing with a family or friends or simply a ride back after a party. This on-demand driver service is available across all locations in Mumbai barring Navi Mumbai and Thane.

Taskbob, the brainchild of four IIT Bombay alumni, began when Aseem was building his earlier startup, Shaukk.com, a platform for like-minded people to connect and follow their passion. He soon realized that people in India face bigger problems affecting their day to day lives and conceptualized Taskbob. He began work on building a high quality reliable handymen services platform in October 2014 and the services went live on December 24, 2014.
In April this year, Taskbob raised $1.2 million worth seed funding from Orios Venture Partners and the Mayfield Fund. They plan to use these funds to ramp up their team, improve the product and scale to cover more locations across the city. Currently offering services in Powai, Chandivali, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kanjurmarg and Marol areas of Mumbai, Taskbob aims to cover the entire city soon.
