E-commerce company FutureBazaar.com, a subsidiary of Pantaloon Retail India, has hired US-based Art Technology Group to create a “next-generation” website that Future Bazaar promises will deliver its customers a “highly personalized, efficient and intuitive shopping experience”.

Future Bazaar signed with ATG because of the company’s experience working with online retailers and because the firm is rating highly among consultants, according to Sankarson Banerjee, chief executive officer, Future Bazaar India.

“After extensive evaluations, we selected them on the basis of their feature set and the quality of their framework,” Sankarson Banerjee has said. “It also helped that ATG has been the top pick of every major consultant’s report and is one of the leading e-commerce solutions. We were also impressed with the passion that the ATG team had for their product.”

Art Technology Group was founded in 1991 by Jeet Singh, a native of India, and Joseph Chung — both graduates of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The company develops and markets a suite of e-commerce software products and provides related services, including support and maintenance, education, application hosting and professional services.
