Entertainment portal FridayMoviez.com has partnered chocolate brand Cadbury Celebrations, to launch ‘The Cadbury Celebration Birthday Contest’, a monthly contest where winners will get an opportunity to perform as the protagonist in a short film produced by Twilight Entertainment and run on FridayMoviez.com. Users born within the current month have to select their best picture and post it on the contest’s Facebook page. The participants will then be filtered into the finalist category and will be called for an audition. Winners will be announced according to their talent and the aptness of the characters required for oncoming theme based short films. Launched on February 10, 2011, the contest has already seen around 2000 registrations.

Speaking to AlooTechie about the objective behind the campaign, Sushant Baliga, founder, FridayMoviez.com said, “We wanted to provide an opportunity to the users and fans of Cadbury Celebrations, by presenting the gift of ‘stardom’ to themselves or to their loved ones, on the all-important occasion of a Birthday. With FridayMoviez.com offering short-films viewing on multiple digital platforms both online and mobile, as well as producing short-films in-house, it was the perfect partnership as well as global platform for Cadbury Celebrations to showcase the talent of its patrons.”

Speaking about the partnership, Baliga said that Cadbury has always pioneered great ad films for its Cadbury Celebrations brand and this time they wished to take it a step forward and get their patrons to participate in the celebrations too. “So when they came up with this innovative concept, which would be more ‘inclusive’ of its fans, in addition to ‘informative’, as also, in complete tandem with the celebratory theme of the product, it made complete sense. Also, this works out for FridayMoviez as well, to partner with Cadburys Celebrations, in keeping with our youth-base, as also the aim to encourage this new genre of film-making associated with Celebratory events like Diwali, Raksha Bandhan and Birthdays,” Sushant Baliga added.
