SMS service provider EezySms.com has launched a web-based SMS application that can be installed by other websites for providing free SMS service to their users. According to EezySms, the company inserts an advertisement in every outgoing SMS and pay back 60 per cent of the revenue earned through the ad to its partner website.

However, if there is no ad at that time, an ad of the partner website is appended in the SMS without any charge, giving visibility to that website. According to EezySms, websites interested in installing its SMS app should have web traffic of at least 20 to 30 unique visitors per day and the website should not host any pornographic content.

“The idea is to create a network of free SMS portals and also help small scale websites to get visibility and some earnings. The free SMS app for other websites will increase the overall SMS delivery from our system and help us get more advertisers and getting more advertisers will in turn help us to pay back to our partner websites,” Upendra Kumar V, co-founder, EezySms.com, has told AlooTechie.

EezySms.com was launched in January 2009. According to Upendra Kumar, the website currently has about 25,000 registered users and serves around 60,000 SMSes a day. The new SMS app for websites is expected to substantially increase the number of SMSes sent through the EezySms network and thus make this service more attractive for advertisers.
