France-based video sharing site Dailymotion has entered India with the launch of Dailymotion.com/in that will offer localised as well as international content. The website allows users to upload videos of upto 20 minutes duration. But for select creative users, called MotionMakers, the file size is unlimited.

According to Didier Rappaport, co-founder, Dailymotion, the company also helps users in monetising their video content when the content generates a substantial number of hits. “We identify talent and help users make a career out of their passion,” Didier Rappaport has said.

In order to deal with users who might try to upload copyrighted content on the site, Dailymotion has implemented an acoustic fingerprinting system that can detect copyrighted videos and prevent them from getting published on the site. [Source: Economic Times]
