Cleartrip names Stuart Crighton as its new CEO; Sandeep Murthy is now Chairman

Online travel company Cleartrip.com has laid off 42 people, about 15 per cent of its total staff of 300, over the past couple of months, reports VC Circle quoting Stuart Crighton, the new CEO of the company. Crighton, a co-founder of Cleartrip who was till now COO of the company, has taken over from Sandeep Murthy who has now become chairman of Cleartrip.

“I think any responsible organisation needs to make sure that they are competitively staffed,” Stuart Crighton has said. “I will continue to keep an eye on the business and continue to make sure that we focus on our core strategy and we are staffed appropriately to do that.” As part of its cost cutting exercise, Cleartrip is also planning to spend money more judiciously for its marketing and capital expenditure.
