Classifieds site OLX.com raises $13.5 million fund

US-based classifieds website OLX.com, which currently operates in 40 countries and 15 languages including Hindi, has raised $13.5 million from General Catalyst, Bessemer Venture Partners, Founders Fund and DN Capital. The company had raised $10 million in September 2006 from the same VCs and various angels.

OLX.com plans to use the funds to “build the best site” in the market, further its global deployment, acquire more sites and continue its aggressive marketing campaign. OLX has already acquired Mundoanuncio.com, Freestreet.it, Freeads.ru and invested in Edeng.cn.
