Change is the only constant and here’s launching the all new AlooTechie!

Dear Readers,

It is not everyday that I get to write a column on
AlooTechie and the fact that I am doing this today has a reason behind this.

It is one of my biggest honour to present to you a new
design of your very own AlooTechie. It has been quite a while now that you have
been awaiting a refurbished Aloo and the time has finally come. I know we are
late but this redesign is more of a point that we needed to prove to ourselves and
say that ‘we are out of our comfort zone’.

Whatever it might be, this new Aloo promises more and just
like yet another redesign episode, we also have a story – something that can
well be termed as ‘The Re-Making’. We have been told that the only thing that
people learn from history is that they learn nothing from it. But this time we
wanted to look back and identify the glitches that we had done earlier. This
redesign involves a much evolved thought process that has gone into devising
the layout and presenting to you the final version.

One of AlooTechie’s biggest strength is you, ‘the AlooTechie
Reader’ and that aspect has been kept in mind while designing the homepage. The
homepage features our top three interviews of the month where industry stalwarts
have spoken to us regarding their professional and personal realities. News has
always been the strongest point of AlooTechie and the news section has been
provided a prime spot in the new homepage. Besides news, interviews, features
and guest articles, this time we have got a strong integration with social
platforms like Twitter and Facebook. The comment section has also been
remodelled and it now houses recent comments as well as most commented stories.
These are some of the little changes that have been incorporated in the new
AlooTechie.

Coming on to another big change, we now have a new logo for
our brand – and yes, we feel that this one looks more serious. The earlier logo
has had been our identity for the last five years and it took an eternity for
us to decide whether we should at all go for a logo change. But here again,
change appeared to be the only thing constant and finally we came up with a
hopefully much-improved logo. As they say adopting a Web 2.0 look and feel.

Another part that gets added to AlooTechie today is the CMO on Digital section. The section features exclusive interviews with leaders of
the marketing industry in India, where they speak to us about the digital
marketing strategies of their brands.

All said and done, as the human psychology goes, the fact
remains that we are still looking to get better and better. And that can only
be achieved with a major help from you. So here’s inviting opinions,
suggestions and rants (if any) from the backbone of this 5 year long journey –
“The AlooTechie Community.”

Cheers!
