Mailesan Rangaswamy has won in the Best Video category for the video Street Light which is based on a blind man’s perspective and shows the importance of looking beyond one’s individual self. The award for the Best Performance has gone to Aryan Adityo for acting in the video Aakss.

Other winners of the Digistars contest are Pawan Kumar (Best Funniest Video – Hell Bound), Ayaskanta Mishra, (Best Mash-up Video – Reincarnation of Erroneous Soul), Sushant Sudhakaran (Best Social Message Video – Endless Expectation), Yash Dave (Best Story – True or False), Rohan Talwarkar (Best Music Video – Echoes of Sound) and Abhinav Tripathi (Break through Concept – Jump).

According to Tangerine Digital, both Mailesan Rangaswamy and Aryan Adityo will now get to be a part of India’s first internet serial that will be produced and promoted by Campus18.com. The online serial to be showcased on Campus18.com will also see the contributions from other winners of the Digistars contest, the company has said.

The finalists were selected from more than 2 lakh online votes, SMSes and judges rating. The contest received more than 500 entries from across the country, according to Campus18. MTV VJ Nikhil Chinappa and actor, director Makrand Deshpande had been appointed as judges for the Digistars contest.

“The internet has started the process of democratizing film-making talent. We are offering a new platform for talented people to showcase their skills,” Puneet Johar, founder and MD, Tangerine Digital Entertainment, has said, adding, “Campus18 is committed to promote young talent through the launch of more such competitions around photography, writing, music and so on.”
