Broadband connections in India grows by 74% at 4.38 million

According to figures released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, the number of broadband connections in the country has grown by 74 per cent at 4.38 million in June 2008, as compared to 2.52 million recorded a year ago.

TRAI defines broadband as internet speed equal or greater than 256 Kbps (kilo bytes per second) download. According to the telecom regulator, India had 4.15 million broadband subscribers at the end of May 2008.
