BCCI hires a US-based company to develop and run its websites

Indian Premier League, a Twenty20 cricket competition created by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), plans to formally launch its website IndianPremierLeague.com on 7th April while BCCI’s much awaited portal BCCI.tv is expected to get launched in July 2008. The IPL website will be run by a US-based company which will also develop a portal for BCCI.

The IPL website will be run by a US-based company which will also develop a portal for BCCI.

BCCI/IPL has negotiated a contract with a US-based company, whose name has not been disclosed as BCCI is still in the process of completing the formalities, to run and operate its portals and the minimum guarantee has been negotiated at $50 million over the next 10 years. There will also be further revenue share of 50-50 from the first dollar earned by the company, reports Hindu.
