BagItToday, FashionAndYou attracted over 10 lakh users each in Sep 2010: ViziSense

According to data released by Komli Media’s online audience and ad measurement platform ViziSense, new-age ecommerce formats like BagItToday.com and FashionAndYou.com attracted over 10 lakh users each in September 2010 and have moved into the ViziSense top 200 Indian websites.

According to data released by Komli Media’s online audience and ad measurement platform ViziSense, new-age ecommerce formats like BagItToday.com and FashionAndYou.com attracted over 10 lakh users each in September 2010 and have moved into the ViziSense top 200 Indian websites.

“Group buying sites, invitation-only buying clubs have become a rage in mature online markets across the world. It’s great to see these new formats making great in-roads within the Indian ecommerce market,” Amit Bhartiya, VP and GM, ViziSense, has said.

The data from ViziSense further reveals that the highest adoption of these sites has been from the West (Maharashtra) and South (Karnataka and Tamil Nadu) as compared to the North, which takes the lead when it comes to offline shopping. It was also found that these sites see favourable adoption by youth (between 15 – 24 years) and with an income of less than Rs 2 lakh.

According to Amit Bhartiya, the consistent growth in traffic on these new ecommerce formats (group buying, private clubs) indicate consumer preference over conventional ecommerce juggernauts like eBay and Amazon and the local ecommerce giant Infibeam, which continue to show a consistent pattern of jumps and dips indicating seasonality and other related trends over the past few months.
