US-based technology giant Apple Inc has reportedly named Michel Coulomb as the new head of sales for India after Sanjay Kaul resigned from the post effective immediately. However, any statement from Apple on the same is yet to be announced.
Industry experts are speculating that Kaul’s resignation has come in view of sluggish sales of its various models including iPhone X launched in India on November 3. The base 64GB model was initially priced at Rs 89,000 which has now been priced at Rs 92,430.
Inadequate supply of the much awaited iPhone X in India made consumers upset. Those who had pre-booked it in the first slot got the phone delivered.
According to Michel Coulomb’s Linkedin profile he started his association with Apple in 2003 as international key account manager. He also led Apple’s operations in Middle East, Tukey and Africa. He moved to Singapore last year as chief of South Asia.
Kaul’s absence from Apple’s Goa conference has made his resignation news more authentic, claims report.
