AOL launches its online video service in India

US-based internet company AOL, a part of Time Warner, has launched its online video service in India, Canada and Taiwan. The company also plans to introduce local versions of its men’s lifestyle site Asylum in India, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Italy.

According to the company, each region will have a local editor that will syndicate programming from the US version of Asylum as well as create local content.

The expansion is part of Time Warner’s plans to refashion AOL as a free, advertising-dependent website, as well as to transform itself into a one-stop shop for advertising services for other companies, reports Financial Express.
