Anurag Dikshit, Sameer Gehlaut included in Forbes’ Web Billionaires list

Anurag Dikshit of PartyGaming (parent company of the world’s leading online poker site PartyPoker.com) and Sameer Gehlaut of Indiabulls (which owns one of India’s leading online brokerage sites), with net worth of $1.6 billion and $1.2 billion respectively, have been included in the list of world’s richest men and women who owe much of their success to websites or online services.

Anurag Dikshit of PartyGaming (parent company of the world’s leading online poker site PartyPoker.com) and Sameer Gehlaut of Indiabulls (which owns one of India’s leading online brokerage sites), with net worth of $1.6 billion and $1.2 billion respectively, have been included in the list of world’s richest men and women who owe much of their success to websites or online services.

The Web Billionaires list, prepared by US-based Forbes magazine, includes 34 people who together are worth about $109.7 billion. With a net worth of $1.8 billion, Kavitark Ram Shriram is another India-born on the list. Shriram is one of the first investors in Google. The list also includes Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page with the highest net worth of $18.7 billion and $ 18.6 billion, respectively.

Some of the other web billionaires included in the list are Jeffrey Bezos ($8.2 billion) of Amazon, Pierre Omidyar ($7.7 billion) of eBay, Eric Schmidt ($6.6 billion) of Google, Mark Cuban ($2.6 billion) of Broadcast.com, David Filo ($2.5 billion) and Jerry Yang ($2.3 billion) of Yahoo, John Doerr ($1.7 billion) – a venture capitalist and an early investor in Google, Mark Zuckerberg ($1.5 billion) of Facebook, James Clark ($1.4 billion) of Netscape, Ma Huateng ($1.4 billion) of Tencent, Robin Li ($1.4 billion) of Baidu.com, and Jack Ma ($1.1 billion) of Alibaba.
