‘Naked In The Wind’, ‘If God Was A Banker’ win Indiaplaza Quill Book Awards

‘Naked In The Wind’ by Brinda Charry has won the Critics Choice Award at the inaugural Indiaplaza Golden Quill Book Awards. ‘If God Was A Banker’ by Ravi Subramanian won the Readers Choice Award. According to Indiaplaza, both the winners have received ‘Indiaplaza Golden Quill’ trophy and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh each.

K Vaitheeswaran, co-founder and COO, Indiaplaza, has said, “As India’s largest online bookstore, Indiaplaza.in is committed to furthering the cause of Indian writing and reading. Starting with fiction in 2008, we intend to announce Indiaplaza Golden Quill awards for more genres like non-fiction, children’s books, business and management, Indian languages etc. in the coming years.”

“The Indiaplaza Golden Quill Reader’s Choice award is our way of empowering the readers to choose and select the best book of the year and based on the overwhelming response to the online voting system, we will continue to focus on this going forward,” K Vaitheeswaran has added.

Initiated as an annual event, the award is aimed at encouraging and promoting excellence in writing amongst Indian authors. For this year awards, Indiaplaza had invited leading publishing houses in India to nominate their best books published in the calendar year 2007.
