Adobe to acquire web analytics firm Omniture for $1.8 billion

Adobe Systems has agreed to acquire web analytics firm Omniture for $1.8 billion. The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2009. Following the acquisition, Omniture will become a new business unit within Adobe. Omniture’s CEO, Josh James, will join Adobe as senior vice president of the new business unit, reporting to Adobe’s president and CEO, Shantanu Narayen.

We will enable advertisers, media companies and e-tailers to realize the full value of their digital assets.”

    What i think is going forward the only way to register growth for Tech companies is inorganic route. organic growth will b down and out in few years and thereafter industry will have to consolidate. And this acquisition by adobe is just one indication of that.
