UK-based ad network AdJug plans to invest $2 million to implement a local ad auction model for the Indian advertising market. The company is set to establish an office in Bangalore and create a launch team of up to 15 people.

AdJug claims that its ad auction model differs from the way online advertisements are bought and sold through current ad networks as advertisers can choose exactly where their ads are displayed and then optimise spend based on how much they want to pay for traffic from a publisher. The model also benefits publishers, who can define how much an advertiser pays for ad space.

Satish Jayakumar, co-founder and director, AdJug, has said, “India is a key strategic market for AdJug. We aim to attract the country’s best talent to help us develop a specific ad auction model for the rapidly growing Indian market. This will not only offer local inventory and ad space, but link to our European networks to drive wider revenue opportunities.”
