9.9 Mediaworx raises Rs 33.97 crore VC fund led by Helion Venture Partners

Media startup 9.9 Mediaworx has raised Rs 33.97 crore by selling 49.25 per cent stake to a group of investors led by Helion Venture Partners, reports VC Circle . 9.9 Mediaworx is founded by a team of senior professionals including Pramath Raj Sinha, former CEO of Kolkata-based ABP Group. 9.9 Mediaworx later acquired the brands and businesses of Jasubhai Digital Media.

Media startup 9.9 Mediaworx has raised Rs 33.97 crore by selling 49.25 per cent stake to a group of investors led by Helion Venture Partners, reports VC Circle . 9.9 Mediaworx is founded by a team of senior professionals including Pramath Raj Sinha, former CEO of Kolkata-based ABP Group. 9.9 Mediaworx later acquired the brands and businesses of Jasubhai Digital Media.

According to the report, Helion Venture Partners India has acquired 37.4 per cent stake in 9.9 Mediaworx for Rs 25.79 crore, while Rajat K Gupta, former McKinsey worldwide chief, has picked up 3.1 per cent for Rs 2.14 crore. Canada-based Stephen Dent and US-based NRIs like Vinay Mohan Singh, Ashutosh Padhi, Anil Nigam and Shirish Sankee have picked up shares ranging from 0.5 per cent to 3 per cent.

Pramath Raj Sinha, founder and managing director of 9.9 Mediaworx, had earlier confirmed to MediaNama that they are raising around $7.31 million in funding. According to Sinha, the money will be invested in existing properties as well as bringing in international publications.
