57% of youngsters surf internet on mobile: Survey

According to a survey conducted by mobile advertising company InMobi, formerly known as mKhoj, about 57 per cent youngsters surf the internet on their mobile phones, and close to one-third of the respondents get engage in the advertisements. The survey was conducted among 205 college-age consumers at the Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi.

The results also showcased popular websites browsed on the mobile phones. It was found that 54.7 per cent of the respondents went for search engines, 51.3 per cent for news, 31.6 per cent went on social networking sites, 13.7 per cent used net banking, 8.5 per cent for gaming sites, 5.1 per cent on e-books, 3.4 per cent on academic sites and 2.4 per cent on matrimonial sites.
