260 million people in India will frequently connect to mobile internet by 2015: Study

According to a study by UK-based research firm mobileSquared, over 1.4 billion mobile users across Asia will frequently connect to mobile internet by 2015, a growth of 233 per cent as compared with 423 million by the end of 2010. India alone will contribute about 18 per cent of all mobile internet users across Asia by 2015, with over 260 million users.

“Almost one-quarter of the global population will be using their mobile devices to access the internet, and those users are in Asia,” Nick Lane, chief analyst, mobileSquared, has said. “By 2015, mobile usage will tower over PC usage across the continent and that means brands and companies must ensure they have a strong presence on mobile.”
