160by2.com launches mobile app to let its users send free international SMS from mobile

Hyderabad-based free SMS service provider 160by2.com has launched a downloadable mobile application that would allow users to send free SMS to mobile phones in India, UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines.

The 250KB application, which can be downloaded from http://m.160by2.com/app, runs on mobile phones with internet connection supported with Symbian or Java operating systems. According to the company, the application has triggered 1,17,760 downloads in just a month.

Satyakalyan Yerramsetti, CEO, SMSCountry Networks, has said, “Our innovative mobile application makes sending SMS hassle free. Once the application is downloaded on the mobile with internet connectivity, it enables the user to send free messages from this icon and need not log onto 160by2.com each time.”

160by2.com works on 80 characters to user and 80 characters to advertiser business model. According to the company, over 1 million SMS messages are currently being sent from its website every day. The company also claims to have a customer base of over 4.5 million users.
